Join us for the next Brussels Future Talk on “EU Missions Assessment: European Perspectives in Exchange with Experiences from Austria and Germany”. The event will take place on 20 September 2023 from 16:00-18:15 CET at the Permanent Representation of Austria to the European Union (Av. de Cortenbergh 30, B-1040 Brussels). Taking a visionary and action-oriented approach, the DLR Brussels: FutureTalks provide a platform for out-of-the-box discussions, focusing on how to shape Europe's future today. On July 19, the European Commission published a communication on: “EU Missions two years on: assessment of progress and way forward”. During this edition of the “Brussels FutureTalks” we would like to discuss the current strategic developments of EU Missions, while considering the outcomes of the EU Mission' assessment as well as European and national (specifically Austrian and German) perspectives, challenges and implementation experiences with representatives from the EU Parliament, the EU Commission, national government representatives and the EU-funded TRAMI project. On behalf of the Blue Mission Banos consortium I herewith invite you to SAVE THE DATE for the first ever Mission Arena, which will take place on 14-16 November 2023 in Gothenburg.     Our goal is to inspire, engage and support actors from politics, industry, science, and civil society to take the necessary actions to achieve the three key objectives of Mission Ocean: Protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity. Prevent and eliminate pollution from our oceans, seas, and waters. Make the sustainable blue economy carbon-neutral and circular. The Mission Arena is the first ever large-scale, in-person platform for actors, projects, and initiatives from within the Baltic and North Sea to connect and explore measures to foster Low-trophic Aquaculture & Products Renewable Energy and Multi-Use Solutions Marine Protection and Reduction of Marine Pollution in the Baltic and North Sea, among other things. Through a wide range of interactive sessions, workshops, pitching events, demonstrations and study visits, all participants will have the opportunity to examine: Existing high potential technical solutions as well as innovation gaps. Suitable business models and funding sources. Regulatory incentives and how to overcome barriers. Ways to increase citizen engagement and uptake. Concrete pathways to Mission Ocean relevant actions in Norway (South), Sweden (West-South), Denmark (East) and Germany (Baltic). All stakeholders active or interested in the Baltic and North Sea are welcome to join, contribute and engage with your projects / initiatives. Following the fruitful discussions of our previous EMiN, we are excited to bring you the 5th EMiN Meeting on July 5th, 2023. The event will be held online in a two-hour webinar from 9:30- 11:30 CET, with a focus on citizen engagement and will also feature the format “Meet and Monitor the Missions”. EMiN aims to discuss policy concepts, share experiences in implementing them and reflect about current and future challenges for the further advancement of the mission approach. We are now inviting all actors involved or interested in the mission’s implementation to join us for a fueled discussion on July 5. Kindly confirm your participation by registering here.
